Programs
We focus on family and community issues and include many areas of local, state and national concerns. Our members provide opportunities for individuals, families and communities to join in improving literacy for adults and children, practicing environmental stewardship, promoting health and nutrition, and role modeling ethical values. Some areas are:
Children
To work with families, educators and public officials to improve child care, health, nutrition and safety in the home, community and nationwide.
Environment
to understand the importance of establishing daily habits to preserve our environment by recycling. To educate about the use of water, land and air quality and practices, as well as hazardous waste information.
Global
We work with people throughout the world to promote international peace, friendship, acceptance and knowledge through programs such as Pennies for Friendship, The Nutrition Education Fund and ACWW Scholarships.
Opportunities to:
Network with local, community organizations and agencies by attending conferences and meetings.
Continuing education by providing curriculum for members to help adults, youth and children to fulfill their interests and potential.
Develop leadership skills by training for emerging leaders and giving opportunities to practice techniques to develop confidence for leadership positions.
Receive awards and formal recognition for HCE programs.
